Senior Estimator - 7085, Negotiable

Our Client, a specialist contractor in the oil and petrochem industry is seeking a Senior Estimator. Job Scope: Check all available documentation relative to an assigned estimate to ensure that the work will satisfy the estimate plan and Client requirements. Identify conflicts if any between the estimate plan and Client requirements and bring them to the attention of the Chief Estimator and the assigned Proposal/Projecxt Manager. Plan work to meet the required schedule with minimum use of overtime. Work planning includes expediting the planned inputs from other workgroups to ensure the maintenance of the estimate schedule. Ensure that estimating is carried out in accordance with approved practices and published procedures except as modified within the estimate plan. This includes checking and assessing input from other workgroups for acceptability obtaining revisions as necessary. Assemble and collate the final estimate of costs workhours and quantities and present them for review to Group Proposal/Project and Company Management. Analyse areas of uncertainty and risk within an estimate and make recommendations of a cost allowance to bring the estimate to the required confidence level and of a contingency amount to cover risks. Maintain detailed records of all costs workhours quantities etc. forming part of the base estimate of costs and of all changes e.g during proposal negotiations arising after formal approval of the estimate. On contract award following a proposal prepare the Interim Control Estimate or Initial Approved Cost as the basis for allocating cost and workhour budgets to the project team. Maintain familiarity with external estimating and costing developments technology and activities. Assist the Chief Estimator in the development and maintenance of historical records needed to support the day-today work of Estimating. Supervise and participate in the training of other staff. Our Client, an engineering Consultancy, is now one of the largest independent consulting engineering practices in the UK, providing consultancy services to private and public sector clients, are seeking a Civil Engineering Graduate. CIVIL ENGINEERING GRADUATES – CIVIL INFRASTRUCTRURE (QUOTE A) Experience/Skills required: A good first degree in Civil Engineering candidates should have a genuine interest in Civil Infrastructure, including the design and construction of major highways schemes. Relevant work experience would be an advantage with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team on a wide range of diverse and interesting projects. CIVIL ENGINEERING GRADUATES – BRIDGES (QUOTE B) – BERKS ONLY With a good degree in a relevant engineering subject candidates must have a genuine interest in all aspects of bridge design for this position. Relevant work experience and familiarity with the use of computer analytical packages would be an advantage. The successful candidates would be supported to gain chartered status through the Client’s approved ICE Training Scheme.
