Our client, a world renowned operator, is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to work on a long-term contract basis. The successful candidate should be fully conversant with the Electrical Engineering practices relevant to the specification and execution of engineering contracting in the current Petrochemical Industry. He/she should be able to lead a small engineering/design team producing equipment and drawing packages for worldwide projects utilising both in house and clients specifications and standards to budget and on schedule. The role includes providing the focal point for all electrical aspects on a multidiscipline project team and as such shall include schedule maintenance, progress monitoring and forecasting. The role is based in Surrey, but flexibility for worldwide travel is essential, as the applicants will be expected to travel to site/ vendors works in order to carry out equipment inspections, progress/clarification meetings, construction/commissioning support as necessary. Education and Experience: Minimum Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. Chartered Engineer Status or must be at least working towards Chartered status for senior role.) Minimum experience of 5 years of electrical design engineering/contracting in the Industrial Gas/Petrochemical or Oil & Gas Industries. He/She will be expected to have a high level of practical electrical engineering design knowledge especially HV but also including: MV motors and starting systems; HV/MV/LV switchgear; distribution transformers; Variable speed drives; Electrical System calculations.
