Our client, a high-tech engineering company working primarily in the subsea oil and gas industry is looking for an ambitious Structural Analyst/ Engineer. The successful candidate will be a degree qualified engineer and should have between 3 and 10 years experience in structural or stress analysis. Ideally candidates will have experience in finite element analysis and technical management of design teams and possess good organisational and communication skills. Experience within the subsea offshore industry is preferable but not essential. The Senior Structural Analyst/Engineer will be responsible for technical management of projects, guidance of more junior engineers and developing and maintaining relationships with clients.

Senior Project Engineer, £35-40k

Education: Degree, HNC or Equivalent Experience: Previous experience working In Reactor Vessel (Training will be carried out on simulator) Knowledge of key components of a nuclear boiler Good knowledge of the function of a boiler Worked on a nuclear station, to be aware of the Work Order Card and Safe System of Work requirements. Previous experience working in an outage environment Must be security cleared and a radiological classified worker Experienced in working under CDM and confined space regulations Project Description: The project is required to carry out:- the replacement of previously identified superheater bifurcations, radiography of the new welds, eddy current inspections of the bifurcation superheater welds, the specified statutory inspections, all within the boilers in the reactor vessel. These inspections and repairs will be carried out during the statutory outages at Hunterston B and Hinkley Point B. There maybe a requirement to carry out in-vessel work at other British Energy sites (Dungeness B). Due to the logistics of the work it is necessary to have a fully team of approximately 150 people who can carry out all the tasks within the boiler. The condition of the vessel is such that the expected radiation dose per man during a 3 hr entry would be ?1mSv and the working temperature would be below 60ºC. The temperature conditions dictate that each vessel entrant will be required to wear a “hot suit.” All personnel will undertake a comprehensive training exercise in a classroom in job specific seminars and carry out vessel entries in a simulator rig.
