Thanks for that.  Patch certainly looks like it will do the right thing but I 
couldn't test it as `autoconf -f' doesn't work.  Taking a guess that what you 
meant was `autoreconf -f' I tried that and it complained:

FATAL ERROR: Autoconf version 2.14.-1.1 or higher is required for this script

I'm only running autoconf 2.13 at the moment.
