What is SSH?

SSH is a protocol to build a secure (encrypted) tunnel through which you can run network traffic that shouldn't be disclosed or possible to snoop on.

SSH is also a program suite with a server and a client, intended to mimic the interface that rsh has, at least on the client side. Added to that are all the needed commands to forward other ports that the default login channel.
