Hi,
I'm new to this list (have been on the
VMS-WEB-daemon list for quite awhile for
the OSU web server). I hope I'm not repeating
what someone else has sent before.
The file s_apps.h is empty in
ftp://ftp.lp.se/vms/ssleay-0_8_1-rl-980811.tar-gz
$ pipe vmstar -tvf ssleay-0_8_1-rl-980811.tar | search sys$INput: "s_apps"
100644 0 Aug 11 17:31:48 1998 SSLeay-0.8.1/apps/s_apps.h
This causes errors when compiling
( $@MAKEVMS.COM; "ALL" "RSAREF" "DEBUG" "DECC" )
in [.APPS]S_SERVER.C, [.APPS]S_CLIENT.C, and
some implicit function informational messages in S_SOCKET.C.
In looking at some other versions of SSLEAY 0.8.1
and 0.8.1b I had downloaded in the past, it looks like
s_apps.h should be around 10 blocks in size. When I
grab a different copy of s_apps.h, I receive no
compilation errors from [.APPS]S_SERVER.C,[.APPS]S_CLIENT.C
so I assume that ftp://ftp.lp.se/vms/ssleay-0_8_1-rl-980811.tar-gz
needs a different version of s_apps.h than is present.

Everything in [.apps] witha name staring with "S_" is considered
non-working right now. I'm working on it, but I haven't set those on
highest priority. If you want to hack and send me patches, please go
