Floating Images is the last major part of HTML V3.2 not yet supported by
Mosaic.  The final 3.0 release should have support for it.

In the final release of 3.0, captions will be centered unless they are
explicitly left or right aligned (i.e. with <caption align=xxxxx>).
This is closer to the way Netscape displays captions.
