pics about a personal Pet and good Degus housing information.
A Degu is a little brown rodent. They look and behave like squirrels. If you have ever seen a Gerbil, just imagine it a little bigger..(See above GIF) Degus originate from the lowland areas of Chile where they live in large groups making their homes in rocks or hedges. Nests and storage for food are usually dug under the rocks. Degus in the wild can live up to 15 years, but in captivity they rarely become 10 years old. If a Degu has cataracts, he will not grow older than 6-7 years. The Degus is a very social animal so if you have a DEGUS give it lots of attention or buy two. As I can attest this animal makes a wonderful pet!
Favorite treats dried rose hips (Nypon), dried rose blooms or petals.(My Degus loves this!) Degus also like to chew on Birch tree branches (björk) and fresh grass or hay and treats of carrots to help its teeth. DO NOT (INTE) (mata aldrig) feed your DEGUS any sugar (söker) holding food like fruit or raisins (russin) or (staräkelson) starchy foods! All parts of a potato are (potatis är GIFTIG)TOXIC/Poisonous to a Degus so be sure not to feed it to a DEGUS!
