Ok, sorry I missed that the ipropd commands can take the option. But 
kadmind in 1.0.1 doesn't detach by default. kpasswdd doesn't, either.

I saw that the Mandriva init script uses the --detach option where 
possible but simply puts the kadmind and kpasswdd into background by the 
use of &.

I don't consider it a bug - just a feature request.
