Homepage of Tobias Öbrink

Welcome to my home page
My name is Tobias Öbrink, and I've been around since 1969.

My educational background is a MSc in computer science at the School of Computer Science and Communications (then known as the Department of Numerical Analysis and Computer Science) at the Stockholm University in Sweden.

I have pursued graduate studies in the School of Information and Communication Technology, (at that time the Department of Teleinformatics) at the Royal Institute of Technology KTH, with the subject "Distributed Multimedia Applications to support human communication and collaboration". For a lot of reasons I had to put it on ice, but I'd like to give it a try again someday because I found it very stimulating.

Computers, multimedia and networking technology are my main professional interests and I have a knowledge of both Computer Science and Computer Engineering as can be seen in my CV.

I'm a O47-C83-E15-A50-N7

At my current employer, MobiOne, I'm developing solutions for logistics companies.

As a member of the IEEE and it's Computer and Communications Societies I get a lot of relevant information on my fields of interest and I recognize the value of the IEEE Code of Ethics in my professional conduct as well as my freetime voluntary undertakings.
There are also some IETF Working Groups that I follow to keep updated on current developments in the Internet.

Over the years I have practiced a lot of different martial arts, of which Kyokushinkai Karate and Judo lay the basis for my spiritual and physical development during the difficult growing and seeking years. This basis has been complemented by excursions into many other east-asian martial arts and philosophical schools, giving a broad insight into how different the world appears from different perspectives.

Since I got married to my wonderful wife, the martial arts activities have mainly given way to marital arts and we have two daughters which are a source of an unending series of surprises, insights, joy, and worry.
